June a Busy Month full of Canada 150 celebrations

It’s Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation on July 1, but the party is already on in Lloydminster this month.
Lloydminster 150 Flag Challenge, June 1 -15 Lloydminster and area
Participate in the two-part Lloydminster 150 flag challenge by posting a picture or video of you with the flag on the Canada 150 Lloydminster Facebook page and inspire others to do the same.
Be sure to use #yll150 to qualify for an amazing Canada150 prize pack valued at $100.
The challenge runs until June 19!
The 150th anniversary of confederation is a historic opportunity to express your pride in our magnificent flag.
Once you’re done taking your photo, display your flag at your place of residence or business.
Let’s decorate Lloydminster with our national spirit for this amazing country!
Hands on Heritage June 9|
4 p.m. – 8 p.m. ADM Agriculture Safety Day at Servus Sports Centre
Historical experts from Lloydminster Cultural & Science Centre will be at Agriculture Safety Days.
Experience bygone days of Lloydminster’s first settlers.
Experience history and practice daily chores with artifacts from the LCSC’s museum collection.
In addition to experiencing hands on agricultural learning, experience how the Barr Colonists survived with the comforts of modern technology.
Grand Re-Opening of Rendell House June 10 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Lloydminster Culture and Science Centre
The Lloydminster Cultural and Science Centre (LCSC) is excited to be re-opening the doors to the historic Rendell House.
The grand re-opening of this fantastic historical exhibit will be held in conjunction with Canada 150 celebrations on June 10.
Guided tours of the Rendell House will start at 1 p.m.
The day is to be filled with fun activities for the entire family, including bounce houses, bread making, old-fashioned games, heritage demonstrations, petting zoo, and more!
Rendell House was the first wood-framed house in Lloydminster built in 1903 by Barr Colonists William & Alice Rendell in 1903.
The restoration of Rendell House was made possible by funds donated by the Richard Larsen Barr Colony Foundation.
