ALL ABOARD Teamster Ted Ethering, from Islay, called out two more people to fill the seats for a sleigh ride outside the Servus Sports Centre during 2016 Winterfest activites. This year's Winterfest will take place on Feb. 20 with sleigh rides in the mix of fun.

The Servus Sports Centre will be the centre of Lloyd’s universe once again for Winterfest.
Hundreds of families and individuals are expected to enjoy a day of indoor and outdoor activities while kicking back on Family Day in Saskatchewan and Alberta on Feb. 20.
“Each year, Lloydminster-area residents embrace the opportunity to celebrate the winter season with their friends and neighbours during Winterfest at the Servus Sports Centre,” said Lloydminster Mayor Gerald Aalbers.
Featured activities and attractions at Winterfest include sleigh rides, public skating, shinny hockey, marshmallow roast, free hot dogs and hot chocolate, bounce castles and a kids fun zone.
The fun starts at 10 a.m.
Winterfest activities are held in partnership with several community organizations who contributed funds,  volunteers and other resources to ensure the success of the holiday event.
“Thanks to these generous community partners, we are able to provide a fantastic day of free fun and food for all,” said Aalbers.
This year’s partners include Spectrum Restoration DKI, ATCO, Lloydminster Source, Lloydminster Rotary Club, Lloydminster Lions Club and Lloydminster Cultural & Science Centre.
Winterfest visitors are encouraged to share their photos and comments via social media on Twitter using the hashtag #LloydWinterfest.
