Cabbie robbed at gunpoint

Lloydminster pair nabbed by dog unit, appear in court today

Just before midnight Dec. 7, Lloydminster RCMP were called to the 5700 block of 31 Street for a report of a taxi driver who had been robbed at gun point. 
The suspects allegedly entered the cab, demanded money, and then fled. 
Police Dog Services was called to the scene and a track began. 
The track led to a residence where two men were arrested.
 Brian Christiansen, 29, and Austin Paulson, 24, both of Lloydminster, were charged with, robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 
Paulson was also charged with failing to comply.
Both men were remanded into custody and will appear in Alberta Provincial today.
 “In Lloydminster we are fortunate to have different resources that assisted in this investigation,” said Lloydminster Const. Grant Kirzinger.
“Quick response times make all the difference in these investigations.”
