Councillor candidates cont.

1) What do you see as the biggest election issue, and how will you address it?
ANSWER: Spending by the city.
Fire, police, water/sewer are the four musts for the city and until a turnaround in the economy I would be against any further spending outside these four.
2) What do you bring to the table, re: experience, etc.
ANSWER: Sitting councillor, over 40 years’ business experience in the Lloydminster community.
3) If elected, what will your spending priorities be?
ANSWER: See #1, Fire, policing, water, sewer.
4)Lloydminster seems to be the awkward, inconvenient child of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
What would you do to break down that border so Lloyd gets its share of provincial money?
ANSWER: Continued lobbying by mayor and city manager and members of council at various municipal functions, I.E.: A.U.M.A., S.U.M.A., chambers of commerce
5) The last election saw an abysmal 11 per cent of us turn out to vote. How are you running your campaign to get more people out to the polls, especially the younger voters?
ANSWER: Trying to connect via social media, public forums and other events.
