Councillor candidates cont.

1) Jobs and the economy. Council needs to play a larger role in attracting new businesses to Lloydminster and working with the federal and provincial governments to create a framework to create jobs.
I would very much like to represent the people of Lloydminster and spearhead new developments and new jobs.
2) Business experience, leadership, energy, passion, new ideas, creativity and more energy.
I am a 20-year veteran of the banking and financial services industry with extensive expertise in investment banking, acquisitions, sales and trading.
Demonstrating a combination of strategic, operational and motivational skill sets, I thrive on the challenges of overcoming adversity and seizing market opportunities while building dynamic, sustainable business models. I have worked successfully in large cap public entities, start-up private companies, voluntary sector organizations (both regulated and non-regulated) and at both the executive levels and board levels.  I have succeeded in a variety of roles and responsibilities.
3) No new taxes. Over the past decade, people in Lloydminster and the surrounding area have sent millions and millions of dollars to Ottawa.  It’s time to for Lloydminster to cash-in and demand that money comes back in terms of investment and jobs!
4) The city of Lloydminster has grown tremendously over the past 10 years. We are not a small city anymore.
We are also a catchment area/hub for over 130,000 people who live within one hour of Lloydminster.  I am going to work tirelessly to build relationships with both provincial governments and ensure that Lloydminster gets its fair share of provincial money.
5) My No. 1 priority is jobs and the economy.
It’s also the No. 1 priority for most people in Lloydminster,  including young voters and young families.
I want there to be an abundance of jobs in Lloydminster.
I want young people from Lloydminster who want to practice law, medicine, sports, technology, entrepreneurship, science, engineering, home-building, development, etc. to all have an opportunity to do those jobs here in Lloydminster.
We need to work together to build a better Lloydminster and get Lloydminster back to work.
