Councillor candidates cont.

1) My slogan, “Better City. Better Life” will be achieved through the implementation of my proposals to (a) restore responsible government, (b) reduce taxes and fees, and (c) reform regulations.  By standing for you, your family and your business to  achieve these modest goals, council will enhance the services and opportunities we need for a better city and better life.
2) As a husband, father, volunteer, entrepreneur, economist and educator I have 30 plus years of experience working in, operating, and owning businesses on both sides of Lloydminster, across Canada and abroad.
I have proposed, managed, and evaluated large cost-shared inter-governmental programs, projects and policies individually and as a team member.
I was born in Lloydminster and completed Grades 1 to 12 here. I have a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Business and Rural Planning and Development.
3) The first priority will be to show respect for the long-suffering ratepayers by proposing a two per cent reduction in all fees and taxes while maintaining essential services.
4) A fiscally fit city will have better capacity to opt into provincial and Federal programs.
Any initiative that makes Lloydminster a better place and reduces the burden of rate payers will gain my hearty endorsement.
By adjusting to the shrinking oil economy and diminished household incomes we can strengthen the Lloydminster Advantage.
5) Many voters have left Lloydminster since the last election.  Many of those who haven’t faced lower incomes and increased costs.
All residents should be fairly treated. We should not pander to any special interest or identity groups.
To encourage more voters I offer hope for a better city: hope for a better life.
