Councillor candidates cont.

1) It appears there is a real feeling in the city of mistrust of the current administration. I think a key part of this is to be as transparent as possible.
It’s a difficult task, but communication is going to have to be improved.
2) I’ve been the president of the Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce and spent 10 years on the board. President of the Border City Rotary Club and member since 2003. Captain on the Britannia Wilton Fire Department and member since 1998, EMR with WPD Ambulance since 2000. Working with numerous boards, being on the front lines with every walk of life, some in their most trying times,
I’m able to work well under pressure and with anyone. 3) Getting a handle on the current state of our city’s economy will take a bit of time as a new councillor. Working with provincial and federal governments and of course local administration to balance our city’s priorities. I’m running my campaign like I run my life. I’m very careful in my personal budgeting and it serves me well. I plan to bring that same fiscal balance to council.
4) I’ve had the pleasure of working with both provincial governments through my involvement in the Lloydminster chamber, provincial political campaigns and the fire department. Get those in power provincially here in our city and have our city officials lobby these folks. We have twice the work to do here than most councils, but in theory we should have twice the opportunity as well.
5) I’m using multiple platforms to reach out to voters both young and experienced. My message is simply this: many people fought and many lost their lives to give our generation the rights and freedoms we have today. You respect our forefathers by exercising your right to vote.
It is an honour and a privilege to be able to do so. It is also a privilege to be able to have the right to run in this election.
