LABIS SECOND CHANCE CLOTHING

CHASE THE ACE
Every Thursday night at the Lloydminster Legion draw is made. $5 a ticket. Every night 20 per cent of the week’s sale is won and winner gets to draw for ace and the big pot. All proceeds go to the Lloydminster Health Foundation, the Legion and the Kiwanis for community projects.

Sept. 16 — Charity barbecue
Border City Furniture, 4817 50 Ave. is hosting a charity barbecue from 11a.m. - 2 p.m. with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to The Snowflake House Respite Foundation, which provides a safe, compassionate environment for children with special needs, whether it be for a few hours of a few days. Hamburgers, smokies, beverages and even ribs on a bun are on the menu. By donation, so please give generously to help such a great organization.

SEPT. 17 — Fundraising barbecue
Barbecue for Baby Cassandra. The Border City Optimist Club will be hosting a barbecue at Sobey’s on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. for Baby Cassandra Benabese. Cassandra requires surgery to correct birth defects and the money raised will be used to help the family with travel and lodging in Toronto.

Volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in support of The Salvation Army Food Bank. On Sept. 17, our volunteers will be in your neighbour collecting no-perishable food items for the food bank. Please leave your donation on your front step for 10 a.m. pickup. Sunday, Sept. 18 at Bud Miller Park. Everyone has the opportunity to honour this Greatest Canadian by walking or running the 5km.
