Lloydminster Mayor Rob Saunders

Greetings from Lloydminster City Hall!
On behalf of my council colleagues, welcome exhibitors, visitors and area residents to the 2016 Lloydminster Heavy Oil Show!
I am immensely proud of the economic resiliency and diversity Lloydminster and region has demonstrated in 2016.
In my conversations with local business leaders, I sense a theme of renewed optimism – and with good reason.
Through 2016 we’ve continued to see the price of oil regain some of its previous strength, and we look forward to even bigger gains in months ahead.
In recent years, Lloydminster has been repeatedly recognized as one of the most entrepreneurial cities in Canada—and it is that spirit of leadership and innovation that will see us through all challenges.
This region has a long and proud history in the oil and gas industry.
Throughout Canada, the Lloydminster   region is recognized for its leadership, entrepreneurial spirit and aptitude for innovation.
Together, we are supporting our communities, providing valuable goods, services and technologies, creating important employment opportunities here at home.
On behalf of the City of Lloydminster, thank you to the local oil show organizing committee and all those who play a role in making this event such a memorable success.
Your hard work is sincerely appreciated by those here in our City, and also by visitors and industry representatives throughout Western Canada.
