There must be some caped community health heroes in our midst.
“Celebrating the Heroes Among Us” is the theme of this year’s Lloydminster Region Health Foundation Gala.
The 16th annual gala will be held Friday, Oct. 21 at the Lloydminster Stockade and Convention Centre.
That’s the word from Pamela Smith, chair of the 2016 Gala Committee about the fundraiser.
“We have had fantastic support in the past with the gala raising over $2.5 million to support many important healthcare projects for our community,” said Smith.
Proceeds from this year’s event will support the relocation and significant upgrades for the Renal Dialysis Department currently located within Lloydminster Hospital.
“This year we are excited to offer our guests another great night while raising funds for the dialysis department,” said Smith.
She added these improvements will provide a much more functional space and enable more patients to receive their dialysis treatments close to home.
The Celebrating the Heroes Among Us theme added Smith will not only once again thrill guests with the décor and entertainment elements, it will more importantly allow the foundation to showcase the many healthcare heroes within our community.
The evening will feature a silent auction, live auction with auctioneer Shelby Stokes, a full course dinner buffet, specialty bar and entertainment.
“Our community is very fortunate to have such supportive sponsors and donors,” said Smith.
She noted the success of this event would not be possible without them, the committee, volunteers and the gala guests.
“It is through this generosity that we can make such a difference to raising funds for better healthcare in Lloydminster,”  she said.
Gala tables are on sale now and include a full table (8 tickets) for, $1,400 or a half table (4 tickets) for $700 with individual tickets to be sold in the coming weeks.
To purchase your tickets please call (306) 820-6161 or email carissa.smith@lrhf.ca. Charitable receipts will issued per ticket up to $100.
