Mayor Rob Saunders gave a press conference on Oct. 2, addressing a contract made in 2013 between the City of Lloydminster and the consulting group AHHA Moments Inc. The consulting group, whose managing partner is former mayor Jeff Mulligan, signed a contract with the city near the time of Mulligan’s resignation, raising questions about conflicts of interest.

“The city has been actively participating in an ongoing RCMP review into the contract between the City of Lloydminster and AHHA Moments Inc.,” Saunders said in a prepared statement.

“The RCMP review has forwarded to the Alberta Crown Prosecutor’s office and they have determined that there is no evidence to support any criminal charge against the City of Lloydminster or AHHA Moments Inc in this matter and this file is now closed.

“As this was an act of RCMP review, the city was not in a position to comment publicly. The City of Lloydminster continues working toward our strategic objectives and priorities and a vision of a world class community with unlimited opportunity.”

No questions were taken following the statement.
