The sun is shining and the automobiles are about to be.

On Saturday, June 20, the Just Kruzin club presents its annual Show ‘n Shine auto show at the Servus Sports Center between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

“There’ll be stock vehicles, which are original vintage vehicles, there’ll be classics, there’ll be muscle cars, street cars, hotrods, there’ll be what we call rat rods where people have kind of put something together,” said Gerry Duhaime, chairman of the car show.

Show ‘n Shine has been Just Kruzin’s signature event over the years. Thousands of motorheads flood the showcase, which normally features around 200 vehicles.

“It’s the largest one between Edmonton and Saskatoon,” Duhaime said. “It’s an opportunity for people to come and show off their ride, whether it be a bike, a truck or car, a motorcycle, it doesn’t really matter. Anything and everything is welcome that has wheels.”

Just Kruzin will also hand out awards and prizes to those whose vehicles place in the Top 10, as voted on by the public. The event will also involve a participant’s choice award, which is voted on by fellow displayers, plus a mayor’s choice award and more.

Duhaime says that people attending the show for the first time can expect to see vehicles that truly fit the one-of-a-kind mold.

“You’ll see some cars that have been highly modified or it’s not the same engine, the same chaise, the same suspension or even the same interior. They’ll look totally different from what they were when they were first purchased.”

Aside from dynamic automobiles, Show ‘n Shine will have vendors selling accessories, food concessions, activities for kids and safety demonstrations from the Lloydminster Rescue Squad.

On the night before the big day, Just Kruzin hosts its annual drive-in movie night, also held at the Servus Sports Centre. This year’s feature film is Gone in 60 Seconds, and Duhaime says that anyone interested in attending needs only a vehicle with FM radio reception.

Just Kruzin asks that those attending the movie night provide a cash donation or children’s toy as admission, while entry to Saturday’s Show ‘n Shine is free for everyone.
