Whether you operate your business solo and out of your house or you manage an office of 50 employees, the Office Productivity Workshop might be what you need to give your company a boost.
Hosted by the Lloydminster RBA and presented by GO Productivity, this workshop centres on operational productivity improvement through Lean Six Sigma.
“You’re actually going to take the principles and use them and Go Productivity is actually known for that,” said Janet Paul, event coordinator with the RBA.
“They take your actual business and they work with each person individually. (Each person) gets to work on their business and provide examples and they actually provide the tools and you get to work on it right there.”
According to their website, Lean Six Sigma is a philosophy of doing business with focus on reducing or eliminating defects while improving the flow in the value stream. It combines the two most important improvement trends of our time: reducing the variation of the process and making work better (using Six Sigma methodology) as well as making work faster and more efficient (using Lean Manufacturing principles).
Though the workshop is office focused for busy workers who need to be more productive, Paul says they can take these principles and apply them elsewhere in their lives.
Attendees will benefit from the hands-on nature of the workshop, talking with GO Productivity staff and meeting other people who are in the same boat.
“Go Productivity brings everything with them and it gives you a base to start your journey on becoming productive in your office,” said Paul. “This is the second time we’ve had Go Productivity come but this is the first time they will be presenting this workshop in Lloydminster.”
The first time they teamed up was last fall for a workshop that was more manufacturing based. After that there was an interest in doing something more office oriented, so they scheduled the office productivity workshop for this February.
“The reason we’re bringing them in is because we’ve had an interest to focus on office and not just manufacturing,” said Paul.
The office productivity Wwrkshop takes place on Feb. 11 at the Regional Business Accelerator Entrepreneurial Centre from 8 a.m. until noon. Tickets are $100 and can be reserved by calling 780-875-8881 ext. 205.
