On October 21, Lloydminster RCMP responded to threats that were made at the Lloydminster Comprehensive High School.

In a news release, the RCMP said members were advised that a male youth had made serious threats to a specific person as well as the school in general. A 17-year-old Lloydminster male was arrested and remanded in custody till mid November.

The RCMP, in collaboration with the Lloydminster Public School Division, have worked hard to ensure the safety of all involved.

“The RCMP take these types of threats very seriously, as do the courts,” said Const. Grant Kirzinger. “This is an isolated incident that only involved the individual arrested. The RCMP want to reassure the public and students of the high school that there is no risk to their safety.”
