Erik Toews scored his second of the season in the second overtime period to give the Lloydminster Bobcats a 3-2 victory over Sherwood Park Wednesday night at the Civic Centre.
Toews’ tally came 4:50 into the second OT frame.
The win allowed the Bobcats to leap over the St. Albert Steel into sixth place in the North Division with a 8-10-0-2 mark.
Cory Dvornik and Adam Slobodzian also scored for the ‘Cats. Defencemen Brock Maschmeyer and Michael Heffner both had a pair of helpers.
Goaltender Garrett Sheehan turned aside 38 shots in the win.
The Bobcats are off to Camrose Friday night to tangle with the South Division leading Kodiaks (12-7-0-0). They then take on the North basement dwellers Drayton Valley on Sunday.
GIllies traded
According to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League website, the Bobcats have moved 19-year-old forward Riley Gillies to the Humboldt Broncos. In return the Bobcats received LW Derek Schemenauer and D Mitchell Peeke.
Schemenauer,19, had a goal and four helpers with the Broncos. Peeke, 20, had three points in 14 PIMs in 10 games.

• Chris Korpach and Brandon Nowakowski scored 11 seconds apart early in the third period as the Calgary Royals (5-12-0-3) downed the Canmore Eagles (8-10-1-0) Wednesday night in Calgary. Korpach had two goals on the night, Nowakowski had a couple of points.
• Okotoks Oilers forward Chris Duszynski is the Source for Sports AJHL Player of the Week for the week for Oct. 19 to 25. Duszynski recorded two goals and four assists, including one game winning goal, in three games for the Oilers last week.
Duszynski leads his hometown Okotoks Oilers in scoring with 19 points and is riding a four-game point streak, totaling seven points. The 20-year-old forward is in his third AJHL season with the Oilers.
