Brett Slobodzian scored what would be the eventual game winner at 17:43 of the third period as the Lloydminster Bobcats 11 game winless streak came to an end Friday night in Brooks.
The Bobcats won the wide open contest, which featured 11 goals and 82 shots on net between the two teams.
Chad Hohmann led the way offensively with two goals and two assists. Brody Foster and Mitchell Peeke also scored for the ‘Cats, whose last win came Nov. 14 against Drayton Valley.
The Bobcats weren’t able to keep the momentum going, dropping the final two games on the road trip. Jesse Halikas and Daniel Gayle scored in a 3-2 loss to the Canucks and they were blanked 3-0 to close out the road trip in Olds.
