On the plus side, the Lloydminster Bobcats stopped their 11 game losing streak.
Unfortunately, their winless streak hit 12 games as they tied the Drayton Valley Thunder 3-3 on the road Tuesday night.
The game, which was originally scheduled for Nov. 1, started perfectly for the ‘Cats who scored the first three goals of the game within the first five minutes of the opening period.
Daniel Gayle scored twice and Brody Foster added the other goal for the Bobcats, who failed to convert on a penalty shot in the second overtime period.
Ashton Reinboldt added two assists and Garrett Sheehan made 44 saves including a total of 12 in overtime.
The ‘Cats are now winless since Nov. 14 and it doesn’t get any easier for them.
The local juniors hit the road this weekend, heading south to take on the Brooks Bandits, Calgary Canucks and Olds Grizzlys all on the road beginning on Friday.
The team returns home in the new year, hosting the Grizzlys Jan. 2
