Rock for Charity

Call it a rock and roll Christmas concert special. The Kooler Nite Club and The Goat have partnered up in the name of charity and live music. This Saturday, State of Shock will play at the club and the cost to concert goers is only $5, said Travis Quesnel, Kooler Nite Club general manager. All proceeds are going to The Goat’s Christmas Wish.
“Hopefully we can make somebody happy for Christmas,” said Quesnel.
This holiday season The Goat is teaming up with a number of community minded partners, including the Kooler, to brighten someone’s Christmas with a helping hand. The initiative is not a contest or prize, but a way for those struggling this time of year to receive a helping hand.
“We always try to do something around this time of year and when State of Shock was offered we jumped all over it,” said Quesnel of the charity minded concert.  “People have a lot of problems around Christmas time and the Christmas Wish does a lot of good work.”
There are two ways to contribute to the Christmas Wish: be a “Christmas Angel” by emailing the radio station about an individual or family in need, or by contributing to the project in a financial capacity. The goal Saturday night is to bring people together for a good cause, said Quesnel.
“We want to fill the house and make people get out,” he continued, adding a donation jar will also be set up. “They’ll pay the $5 and hopefully give a little more, whatever they feel like they want to give to charity that day. Hopefully everyone comes out and supports the show, supports the Christmas Wish.”
Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at Sound Obsessions. For more information about The Goat’s Christmas  Wish, visit www.borderrock.com.
